Learn more about Feeding South Sudan!

Our mission is to help reduce this number by launching mobile food pantries throughout South Sudan to help nourish the underprivileged populations.

The United Nations reports that over 6 million South Sudanese people are suffering from acute hunger and more than 9 million depend on some form of humanitarian aid.

Shriya Raja

CEO and Founder of Feeding South Sudan

Shriya Raja is the CEO and founder of Feeding South Sudan. Shriya is a high school student at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. She has spent numerous hours volunteering at her local food bank, prompting her to start this organization to help more people. Shriya has always had a passion for nutrition and health and she strives to learn more about it. Through her connections with various nutrition specialists and practice owners, she is able to grow her knowledge of nutrition and the human body, while also informing others of her findings as well. During her free time, Shriya enjoys conducting scientific research in environmental toxicology and trans-generational epigenetic inheritance. She also loves to sing Indian classical music, write about current events and social sciences, and read horror novels.

Jessica Kamya Bagenda

Founder of Haba Na Haba Food Bank

Jessica Kamya Bagenda is the Executive Director / Co- Founder of Haba na Haba Food Bank, bringing over 30 years of experience in nonprofit management and community development. With a strong background in food security and sustainable development, she has held key roles such as Head of Finance and Administration in Uganda Red Cross and Programs Coordinator roles . Jessica holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Project planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute Uganda and a bachelor's in commerce from Mohanlal Sukhadia University India. Known for her expertise in nonprofit leadership, project management, accountability, reliability and data-driven decision-making, she has significantly improved food distribution efficiency and sustainability practices. Jessica is committed to expanding Haba na Haba's Food bank reach, with a satellite in Burundi and work in progress in South Sudan leveraging technology to combat hunger and fostering community partnerships to ensure effective utilization of surplus food.

Gabriel Nyok Akim

Founder of Helping Hands for South Sudan and Chopriak Outreach Organization

Gabriel Nyok Akim is the founder of Helping Hands for South Sudan which focuses on building schools for children in South Sudan. He is currently the head for two schools in South Sudan. He is also the co-founder of Chopriak Outreach Organization which helps those living in poverty in South Sudan.
